APPEARANCE
uniform 2 & body shot 2 (nsfw) 36'6" and around 360lbs of functionally-cut muscle and broad shoulders and steel, black hair streaked grey at the temples, dark blue eyes. James is a career soldier/officer as well as a licensed huntsman in his world, all groomed from younger ages if they show an aptitude early on. He maintains a strict regimen as far as diet and exercise go and isn't the type to indulge in anything his men wouldn't get aside from the occasional polite drink when meeting with others.
His body language is about as rigid in most cases, often standing at parade rest and maintaining a neutral expression only prone to soften with those he knows. He eases to tactility given and has no visible scarring with how covered he keeps himself, but the right half of his body is cybernetic— arm, shoulder, upper torso (and possibly lower), and his whole leg, with thick claw-rend scarring around the edges of the metal where it's fused to his flesh. The origin of the injury isn't clear but the damage was clearly severe, and despite holding himself normally, his left side is acting up from the added strain it had to take up. This shows more often when he's alone or it's cold out and he's slower to move.
FASHION
This square's always in uniform even if he were to take someone out to dinner, but if he absolutely HAS to dress casually/comfortably, probably a high-neck sweater (collared/pullover or a turtleneck) and slacks, with equally-covering sleepwear; Atlas is a cold place and also he has all his scars and cybernetics to cover up. He's a low-cut briefs man. About the same palette with darker greys/navy/maroon/white that seem to run the norm in Atlas. He's always sharp and always polished if he has the time to spare outside of uniform.DEMEANOR
The General is very much just that, at first: militaristic and polite, stern, and very much the sort to take preventative action before it's needed. He's criticized quite heavily for bringing a military presence to the arena which did end up being needed, if ineffective, and later he pulls everything back to Atlas and has the entire fleet in the air as if expecting an attack after the first arena in another country falls. He does whatever he feels is necessary whether others agree or no if it means protecting his people and the children being groomed as the next generation of protectors, young huntsmen and huntresses in the making at the academies and arenas. His paranoia having been proven a reality time and again, he only grows more bullheaded in acting as he sees fit— especially when he loses contact with Oz.But he does have a big heart beneath it all, and he is a surprisingly warm and affectionate person. He visibly relaxes when others touch him and has no qualms in taking others into hugs, and enjoys things like dancing at formal affairs. While not the most skilled at dealing with children, he does greatly care for them and makes an effort to be kinder around them and on their level, moving in to offer his protection and backup without outright taking their initiative away. They have to stand up for themselves, but he doesn't tolerate abuse or harsh words.
VOICE
Voiced by Jason Rose, his tone of voice is genial and polite with a deeper, smoother quality that only roughens slightly if he's in a more heated situation. He chooses his words with care and is clearly more comfortable in a formal context than a casual one, well-spoken and succinct, with a weakness for wrapping up speeches. (He's working on it, don't worry.) Everyone seems to speak the same language across the different countries with regional differences in appearance and names only, so he has no real world equivalent language or dialect.OLFACTORY
Leather/sandalwood, crisp winter air, basic soap. Might dash on a subtle woody aftershave if he's going somewhere particularly nice, but otherwise he's just Clean and Neutral (and doesn't otherwise take care of himself/care about his appearance so long as it fits military standards).MAGIC & TELEPATHY
He has no awareness or defense against mental abilities, though "semblances" come in all shapes and sizes unique to every single person— there seems to be no particular defense against the non-physical ones such as Qrow's "misfortune" semblance which affects Qrow and anyone around him with reckless abandon, though he would likely be able to, say, wrest his metal limbs from someone with a magnetic type of semblance such as Pyrrha's from brute force alone.For telepathy purposes, just shoot me a PM and I can provide his mental state/thoughts in context of an ongoing thread we may have! If one were to read his "aura", he probably comes off like the subtle warmth of life of an evergreen forest in winter. Crisp and quiet, steadfast, stubborn. His color would be a tin grey. (Heh because he's based on the Tin Man, get it.)
He is otherwise fairly stable and keeps his cards close, but a look inside his head would prove him to be more trustworthy than he outwardly may seem in tense situations. He does care greatly and harbors no ill will for others, and he is always ready to act and protect.
INVENTORY
● Aura: (steel blue) In RWBY, everyone in the world has an Aura; to sum it up quickly, it helps them heal faster, makes them impervious to some projectiles such as bullets as a "body armor" of sorts until it "breaks" (from a certain level of damage, and restores itself some minutes later), can be projected as a shield or used offensively, and powers theeeeir:● Semblance: James' Semblance is either unknown or he never unlocked/developed one. I go with the latter until proven otherwise. It's not often people hone their Aura to the point of unlocking a Semblance according to the guide, and there have been ample opportunities to have shown his if he had one.
● Cybernetic Strength: The general here had some horrific injuries we're never told about that replaced the right half of his body with cybernetics; arm, leg, torso, hip. He shows increased strength (fight vs grimm) with these cybernetics, but can control the output well (fight vs human, visible "aura break" around the 1min mark). This probably about maxes out at throwing around one ton / roughly a vehicle.
● Dust: Mineral deposits leftover from the previous magic of the world; this comes in multiple elements and can be combined for more. James' dual pistols are shown utilizing dust bullets, specifically gravity bullets in his black gun (lost in the above-linked fight vs human) and hard light or explosive bullets in his white gun. He makes no other visible usage of dust.
HEADCANON & ABILITIES
I am 100% willing to work with other people's headcanons, yall just let me know what you have in mind and I will roll with it. My main hole to fill with James is how his body condition is; I think he's still functional between the legs with minor damage taken/Enhancements (I GUESS???) but mostly he mentions his left arm "acting up" which is flesh & bone, so his body is clearly still feeling the strain of whatever serious damage he had taken that resulted in the right side of his body being replaced with cybernetics.The original "lore" for the Tin Man in Wizard of Oz is that his axe had been enchanted by the wicked witch of the west to chop off all his limbs/chop up his body until he was left completely metal, however that worked, whether or not it foreshadows further cybernetic replacements or nah. He Hurt. All The Time. I say it was a Grimm attack about a decade ago when he was ranked as a Major and protecting some outer town or another from a pack of Sabers. It earned him his promotion and instead of a purple heart or other medals of valor, he got to be a Headmaster of Atlas Academy with neat logo sweatpants.
Abilities-wise, I assume he has no Semblance and his weapons, Due Process, are a very powerful pair of pistols he's capable of wielding in either hand. The black one utilizes Gravity Dust and the other alternates normal and explosive rounds.
THE NAUGHTY BITS
CUP/PENIS SIZE & GROOMING: He's a big dude with a big dick there I said it. (More specifically:) Incredibly unwieldy, nearing 9" erect and thicker, uncircumcised, with some scarring on the right side closer to the base where he doesn't have as much sensation. That scarring stretches out from his hip where no hair grows, and he keeps himself trimmed short if he ends up in scenarios where he spends time with others. Otherwise he doesn't bother because he's sad and tired.PREFERRED SIZE & METHODS/POSITIONS: He has zero preferences and is functionally bisexual leaning toward women. He isn't very adventurous, but he can be taught! He's a good boy that just wants to please his partner so he does his soldierly duty and goes down on them and tries to prep them as best he can. He's pretty vanilla, but no stranger to how to go about properly bangin.
SENSITIVE AREAS: Half his body is metal he can't feel so basically what remains and isn't scarred up, though some of the tissue still has a distant-tingly sensation. Give him a good rub-down, help loosen up that poor bod, and watch him melt.
UNDERGARMENTS & SLEEPWEAR: Low-cut briefs in dark colors (keeps them from catching in his artificial hip joint), sleeps in flannel pants and likely also a thin long-sleeved shirt. He keeps himself pretty covered up as a rule.
DOMINANT OR SUBMISSIVE: Largely dominant out of size/general societal expectation for his position but could easily switch if he gets around to trusting someone. He'll hand over the leash.
TRIGGERS: None in particular! Keep fire away from him and you know. Don't try to brand him if you're that flavor of freaky.

FREQUENCY & MASTURBATION: He's criminally touch-starved and has been without partners for at least a handful of years; he doesn't care for himself beyond official appearances and probably doesn't get one off but every blue moon in the shower when he's particularly frustrated.
